The Hildagard 395 Demands Attention! Not only is this true with its sharp lines and impressive design, get her airborne and you’ll see the heads turn. I liken it to the first time you were within a 100′ (or so) of a high-powered 3D Heli (think Goblin 700).

Many said it “couldn’t be done” or “it’ll never perform like a true freestyle quad”. Imagine the look on their faces when they saw her take to the air for the maiden flight.

Needless to say, they were wrong.

Naming the Frame

“I’m proud to have given it a variation of my last name when it was being conceived. I named it after my youngest daughter who faces a lot of battles growing up with special needs daily and is a strong fighter! I just thought I’d share a little personal information on how it became what it is today. When I reached out to Stefan van der Ende to help me bring my vision to a reality I never imagined it to be more than a personal goal of mine to have a Long range/ Acro platform of my own. Now that it has went worldwide in interest and sales I hope all who own one or may own one in the future are as happy when flying it as I am. This truly is an amazing and one of a kind 10″ frame.

Here’s the definition and how I blended it with her last name: The female name Hildegard derived from the Old High German words hild (=war or battle) and gard (=protection) and means “battle guard”.

Hidalgo = Hildagard ?”

The Build

Using only the best components for the build, I was able to achieve maximum performance! The Brotherhobby T5’s paired with the Airbot Wraith32 Metal V2 ESC’s, crank out an insane amount of power.

On a 4 second punch-out, I went from hovering 10′ off the deck to almost 400′ AGL, pulling 188 amps!! The motors were cool to the touch upon landing.

Because of the size of the frame and props required, it makes tuning slightly more challenging, but still very attainable. After about 8 battery packs, I can say that I am about 90% happy with the tune. Still working on the last 10%.

Also due to the size, there’s a lot of room for components. This is never a bad thing and often leads to a very clean build.

Overall, the Hildagard 395 was a pleasure to build, and a blast to fly!
